Health, safety & security
We have a duty to provide a healthy and safe working environment for our employees, who are our greatest asset and the foundation of our success. We are also unswervingly committed to the security of our customers’ data and money, and vigilant in the fight against financial crime and money-laundering. We actively and willingly co-operate with the authorities in every jurisdiction in which we operate to detect and eliminate crime.
We do our utmost to prevent breaches of security on our premises, such as robbery and theft. CCTV is installed across all of our UK retail estate, both to help reduce the number of incidents and to protect employees and customers. We are constantly trialling new technologies to make our shops safer.
Health and safety
The health and safety of our colleagues is of crucial importance to us. As part of the creation of the new Ladbrokes Coral company we will develop a new Group H&S Policy and a comprehensive safety management system for all parts of the business.
Fraud and corruption
Our compliance programme includes comprehensive fraud detection and corruption monitoring systems. We have highly experienced trading, risk, and audit and compliance teams to assist with fraud prevention (for example use of stolen cards) and to identify suspicious betting activity both online and across our retail estate. Crucially, every transaction with us is recorded and our teams use sophisticated forensic and analytical tools to monitor betting activity.
We make thorough ‘know your customer’ checks on all user accounts, to verify age, identity and that the customer is the rightful owner of the payment method being used to fund their account. In certain circumstances this will also extend to a request for provenance of funds.
Any suspicious activity is passed onto the UK National Crime Agency (NCA) or the Gibraltar Financial Intelligence Unit. We conduct real time fraud screening across all accounts and payment methods. Our Compliance department also has good liaison with UK and international banks, national and international police and crime units and Interpol.
We are committed to building trusted relationships with customers, regulators, local communities and sports organisations alike and maintain regular contact with the UK Gambling Commission’s Sports Betting Intelligence Unit and the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner, together with the respective Sports’ Governing Bodies (SGB’s) for all matters of sports betting integrity.
We are members of the Sports Betting Integrity Forum (SBIF), which manages Britain's Action Plan for protecting integrity in sport and sports betting, reflecting the belief that match-fixing presents a major and continuing challenge for the governance, culture, reputation and operational capabilities of sports and sports betting operators.
It is essential that our customers have confidence in the honesty of the markets on which they place their bets and in this respect, membership and participation in all SBIF matters ensures that our business interests are aligned with those of the regulators and SGB’s in wanting sport to be conducted in a fair and open manner whilst remaining corruption-free.
